The Commodore serial cable

Construction

You need the following parts to build this cable:

  • Two solderable 6-pin male DIN plugs (Commodore serial plugs)
  • A shielded 5-wire or unshielded 6-wire cable of, preferably at most, 2 meters

Step 1. Solder one end of the cable onto one DIN plug.

Step 2. Solder the other end of the cable onto the other DIN plug. You should have the following connections:

 1, SRQ  1, SRQ
 2, GND  2, GND
 3, ATN  3, ATN
 4, CLK  4, CLK
 5, DATA  5, DATA
 6, RESET  6, RESET
